Trans World Expedition

I recently found out about a fellow adventurer who’s taken life by the horns and decided to do “it.” “It” is something we’d all love to do, but for a million different reasons just can’t seem to make the break with that thing we call “LIFE” and actually do “it.” “It” is different for everyone. “It” may be climbing Everest, travelling to all 50 states, visiting Antarctica or whatever dream “it” happens to be in your personal life.

Here at Expedition Offroad; as with many of you who suffer from a serious sense of wanderlust; we’ve often dreamed about outfitting our rigs and heading out for an extended journey.

The destination?

Simple; unknown.

Today I’d like to break from our routine of reviewing new products, to take a moment and introduce you to Nicolas Rapp of the Trans World Expedition. At this moment Nick is driving through Utah on his way back to New York City. Aside from the distance between “here” and “there” as well as the neat Americana he’ll pass through along his way home; we’re sure you’re asking, “Just what is so special about this journey?”

Approximately one year ago, Nick embarked on “it.” Nick’s “it” happens to be what we here at Expedition Offroad would call an adventure of a lifetime. Nick’s “it” happened to be a journey around the world. In the summer of 2009, Nick decided to take a break from his job to attempt an overland travel around the world in a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser.

Take a moment to fasten your virtual seatbelt as you sit down in front of the monitor and enjoy Nick’s down to earth writing style and imagine yourself a guest in Nick’s camp. Enjoy the splendor of night illuminated almost as bright as day by the magnificent starscape of the Milky Way or listen to a mullah’s magical call to prayer issued to the faithful. Wake up on snow white tropical beaches and slog through shin deep mud. In short – live a virtual moment in an adventure we’d all love to take.

This sounds like a dream come true to us. Our hats are off to Nick Rapp, who we would describe as a drifter, a vagabond and modern day Columbus or da Gama. In short, Nicholas Rapp is a man after our own hearts. We encourage you to live an adventure vicariously through Nick’s Blog: “Trans World Expedition” http://www.transworldexpedition.com
